11 Restaurants Caught Labeling Foreign Fish as Domestic

Up to eight stores have been found to have deceived customers on the product of origin for imported fish in Busan.

The special agency for Busan police caught 11 shops allegedly violating the law of mislabelling the origin of fishery goods.

According to Busan City, one shop sold 25.3kg of Japanese red snapper as domestic, and another selling 20kg of Chinese octopus and Japanese scallop as domestic.

Six others are accused of selling 510kg of Japanese sea urchin as domestic.

The city estimates that a total of 2 tonnes worth of Japanese fishery goods have been sold or distributed from these eight shops.
