The 2019 Busan Choral Festival & Competition gets underway today for four days in Haeundae.
The opening concert features Finland’s Rajaton, a six-voice a cappella group that have recorded 16 albums over 20 years of music.
This year, more than 1,600 people are participating, including 19 foreign choirs from 9 countries, and 9 domestic choirs.
On the 18th, a gala concert featuring the folklore contest, the most sought-after part of the choral contest, will be presented.
The Folklore contests are popular every year as each choir expresses its own culture with its own costumes, makeup and directing.
Period: October 16-19, 2019
Venue: Busan Cinema Center, Sohyang Theater
