There is plenty to see and do besides the sculptures at this year’s Haeundae Sand Festival which is scheduled from Friday through next Monday.
Fireworks, concerts, water gun battles and markets are just a few of the things on tap.
Highlights of the festival include a parade on Gunam-ro from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and the opening ceremony and fireworks show are scheduled for the same evening.
According to Dynamic Busan Magazine, this festival will include numerous activities involving sand such as a treasure hunt, a playground, sandcastle-destroying, speed-sand-sculpture-making, and sandboarding.
Music acts scheduled to perform are an 8090 EDM Party on Friday at 8 p.m., the BewhY and Kingston Rudieska on Saturday at 630 p.m. and the show choir group Harmonize perform Sunday at 7 p.m.
A water-gun survival game will also be held at Haeundae Plaza on May 25 and 26 at 1 p.m. and registration for the game is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Water guns and raincoats will be provided. Some of the activities will be charged, and payment by card will be available.
