Busan’s Only Multicultural Art Festival celebrates its 57th anniversary this year.
The 11-day event will gather artists and performers alike until the 27th at various venues across the city.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Grand Theater of the Busan Cultural Center with a performance of “Gagok and Aria Night.”
A series of other events will take place throughout the city including the Korean Institute of Architects which will hold an exhibition from tomorrow until the 22nd at the Busan Museum of Art and Busan Arts Center.
The Busan Branch of The Korean Photographers’ Association will hold a photo exhibition at the Busan Citizens’ Hall from tomorrow until the 21st, and the Busan Flower Artist Association will hold a flower art exhibition at the Busan Culture Center from tomorrow until the 20th.
A local theatrical group Baewoochanggo will perform “Pa Han Dan, Dubu Han-mo” at the Busan Arts Center from tomorrow until the 24th.
Korean Traditional Music Group “Hanmadang” will perform at the Grand Theater of the Cultural Center on the 19th, and an art exchange exhibition from overseas sister cities where artworks from Busan, Ulaanbaatar, Fukuoka and Weihai artists will be held at the exhibition room of Busan City Hall from the 21st until the 26th.
The Busan Dance Association of Korea will hold a performance titled “Nokyangjimoo” at Joongguk Theater at the Busan Cultural Center on the 24th.
There will be other events including the Busan Film Festival, a Silver Folk-Song Festival and demonstrations of tea culture during the art festival.
