Around Korea: Traditions Alive at the Cheongdo Bullfighting Festival


The annual Cheongdo Bullfighting Festival returns for another year at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Sossaum Stadium from March 27 -31.

Gyeongsanbuk-do has a long history of bullfighting, with the region being the most well-known for the sport in the country.

The festival began in 1999 and draws nearly 500,000 spectators each year.

Other activities include performances, bullfighting and agriculture exhibits and experience programs.

All visitors are welcome and admission is free.
