ASEAN Food Street Off to a Successful Beginning

ASEAN Food Street, which invites local ASEAN chefs from 10 ASEAN countries to showcase their own dishes ahead of the 2019 ASEAN-Korea Special Summit has gotten off to a successful beginning.

The opening ceremony began with the opening ceremony of a child wishing for a prosperous future and prosperity of ASEAN, including Hwang Gyo-Ik’s introduction of ASEAN food culture, the ASEAN representative chef’s welcome ceremony, and the main agenda of the ASEAN-Korea Special Summit: People, Prosperity and Peace.

The event was held with the ASEAN Lantern Lighting Ceremony.

ASEAN Food Street is open daily until November 27th.

Thousands of visitors came out over the first weekend to enjoy Southeast Asian cuisine.

Originally 1,000 meals on weekdays and 2,000 servings on weekends were prepared, though the food was selling out fast.

The booth’s selling price is 5,000 won for a single item and the sampler kit can be purchased for 15,000 won for four menu items.

Weekdays are open from 4 pm to 9 pm, and weekends are from 1 pm to 9 pm, and the Korea Pavilion’s NEW ASEAN Cuisine, which can be enjoyed without a reservation, and the ASEAN Supermarket where ASEAN foods can be purchased.

It is becoming. This year’s first written tree festival and a large flea market are held together.

Food Street invites new celebrities every day to talk about food and travel to 10 ASEAN countries.

Park Joon-woo, Lee Won-il chef, broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon, and Busan’s MBC World Excursion, Mr. Kim Geun-su have provided information on ASEAN countries and interesting stories over the weekend.

On November 22nd, a special cooking event will be held to celebrate D-3 on the summit.

Celebrities and citizens cooking fusion dishes that combine with the ASEAN countries’ cuisine are scheduled.

An official from Busan said, “There were inconveniences such as longer waiting time for orders because more people came to visit us than expected on Saturday.” We will do our best to ensure that the festival with citizens will lead to the success of the ASEAN-Korea Summit.”

The 2019 ASEAN-Korea Special Summit will be held in BEXCO, Busan on November 25 and 26, and the first Korea-Mekong Summit will be held at Nurimaru APEC House on 27th.
