Korea Racing Authority’s LetsRun Park Busan Gyeongnam will hold 60 races across eight race days during August.
Racing at Busan Gyeongnam, Seoul, and Jeju will pause from July 31 to August 2 to protect racehorses and staff from extreme summer heat.
Night racing will resume afterward, with Friday and Saturday programs running for five weeks.
On August 9, admission will be free, and the track will host a memorial race honoring Dangdae Bulpae, the legendary racehorse that won the President’s Cup (G1) three consecutive times from 2010 to 2012 before passing away earlier this year at age 19.
Another highlight comes on August 16 with the Rookie Stakes, a race for promising two-year-old horses held simultaneously at Busan Gyeongnam and Seoul.
To reduce heat stress, temporary summer measures will remain in place through August 30, including adjusted paddock schedules and longer shaded waiting periods for jockeys before races.
