BUSAN, South Korea — Tickets for the opening movie of the Busan International Film Festival, ‘Vara: A Blessing’ were sold out in 43 seconds after the advance sale of tickets began. Tickets for the closing movie ‘The dinner’ were sold out in three minutes and 55 seconds.
The advance sale of tickets for the opening and closing movies of BIFF started at 5 p.m. yesterday through the Internet portal site, Daum.
Ticket reservations for other films at BIFF will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow, September 26th through Daum and Busan Banks.
In other festival news, world-class movie directors and actors will visit this year’s Busan International Film Festival.
The organizing committee of the Festival said famous movie directors and actors, including Gianfranco Rosi, who won the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival, in Italy, and Elena Cotta, who won Italy’s Volpi Cup for best actress, at age eighty-two, will participate in the event.
This will be the first visit by a director who won the Golden Lion Award to Korea. Other guests at the event include world-famous directors Jim Sheridan and Neil Jordan.
