The 8th Busan Ballet Festival will take place from August 20 to 22 at the Yeongdo Culture and Arts Center, bringing together professional dancers, aspiring performers, and ballet enthusiasts for three days of performances and educational programs.
This year’s festival features four main programs: Dance Wave, showcasing contemporary works by emerging choreographers; the Special Gala, featuring leading dancers from major Korean ballet companies; Shall We Ballet, highlighting amateur performers; and Youth Ballet, dedicated to young dancers.
The festival also includes ballet workshops, dance film screenings, and a ballet market.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the Special Gala on August 21, with dancers from companies including the Korean National Ballet, Seoul Ballet, Busan Opera House Ballet, and Wise Ballet performing excerpts from both classical and contemporary works.
Most performances are free with advance reservation, while tickets for the Special Gala are priced at 30,000 won. Reservations can be made through the Yeongdo Culture and Arts Center website
