Runners from around the world will gather at the 2019 Busan International Ocean Marathon on October 6th.
The sports fest is garnering attention for its picturesque course across Busan’s three major sea bridges — Gwangan Bridge, Busan Harbor Bridge and Namhang Bridge.
The Ocean Marathon event encompasses a half marathon, 10-and 5-kilometer courses, with the latter two set for the Gwangan Bridge alone, due to their short distances. Only the half marathon provides an opportunity to run all three bridges.
Both shorter courses will begin at the Gwangan Bridge, whereas the half marathon will take off from BEXCO before embarking on the three-bridge route. It finishes at Songdo Beach.
In addition to parades and air shows at the start line, a cosplay area, high-five/photo zones and a wrap-party for 5-and 10-kilometer racers, make the event one to remember.
– Entry fee: 20,000 won for the 5K, 30,000 won for the 10K and 40,000 won for the half-marathon course.
– How to apply: Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at marathon.busan.com. until September 27.
