Busan police will conduct a DUI crackdown and a prevention campaign in time for strengthened drunk driving limits.
Busan Regional Police said that it will conduct a city-wide Driving Under the Influence (DUI) crackdown from yesterday.
According to the new road and traffic law that go into effect today, the new blood alcohol level for DUI penalties will be 0.03%, down from the previous 0.05%.
According to the police, the new punishable blood alcohol level of 0.03 to 0.05% may appear even after a glass of beer.
The police will put in 865 officials in fifteen areas throughout the city for the crackdown and conduct a DUI prevention campaign.
The crackdown is expected to last two months.
