“Chinese Football” Bring Midwestern Emo Sound to Someday this St. Patrick’s Day

China’s premier emo stars Chinese Football will be coming through Korea with a stop in Busan on Saturday, March 17 at Someday.

Founded in 2011, Chinese Football bring punk attitude and post-rock aesthetics to the wistful yet stirring sound of Midwestern Emo, citing as inspiration late ‘90s pioneers like Jimmy Eat World, Get Up Kids, and, you guessed it, scene leaders American Football.

After having shared the stage with bands such as Caspian, The Ataris, and Tricot, and receiving international acclaim for its two EPs and 2015’s eponymous album Chinese Football, the band will be in Busan for one night to share the fantasy of youth and its frustrations.

For a fresh take on a blast of nostalgia, catch them at Someday in the Pusan National University (PNU) area. They’ll be joined by sweet punchy soft-rockers Bosudong Cooler, and post-rock inflected modern rock band Goodbye Wendy.
