Cheonggyecheon will transform into an open-air runway later this month as Seoul hosts a special citizen fashion show featuring models ranging in age from their teens to their 80s.
The Seoul Facilities Corporation announced that the βCheonggye Live Fashion Showβ will take place on May 27 at 7 p.m. on the floating stage beneath Ogansugyo Bridge near Dongdaemun Fashion Town.
Held under the theme βSpring Swing,β the event will feature about 100 citizen models between the ages of 18 and 81, creating a multigenerational runway performance open to the public free of charge.
Participants include current students and graduates from the Seoul Institute of the Arts model department, with professor Lee Eun-mi serving as artistic director. The oldest model, 81-year-old Jang Jeong-rye, and the youngest, 18-year-old Choi Tae-sul, are among those set to take the stage.
The show will combine fashion, music and performance under the sub-theme βFor Dreamers,β incorporating jazz, musical and pop-inspired elements along with dance performances. Seoulβs 2026 signature city color, Morning Yellow, will also be featured throughout the production.
The runway will present 10 themed fashion concepts, ranging from streetwear to fusion hanbok. Featured segments include urban street fashion, black-and-white modern classic looks, elegant eveningwear, and a finale showcasing Korean-inspired fusion hanbok designs.
The event will also highlight brands from the Dongdaemun fashion district, with participation from labels based in DDP Fashion Mall and Doota.
