Concerns Rising Over Possible Subway Strike in Busan on Wednesday

Concerns of a subway strike are nearing as Busan Metro labor and management failed to reach an agreement during dispute mediation.

The labor and management sides are at odds on issues of the number of new hires using the increase in ordinary wages.

Busan Metro labor union said that the meeting ended without a mediation plan.
The union explained that following the failure of the final dispute mediation, it could legally hold a strike beginning yesterday.

The labor and management sides will sit down for final negotiations on Tuesday the 9th.

Should there be no agreement reached, the union will announce a strike that evening and go on strike starting with the first subway train on Wednesday, July 10.
