International School of Busan (ISB) is thrilled to announce that Grade 11 student Haruhi S. has successfully completed a remarkable creative project in collaboration with Park Hyatt Busan. The project, which builds upon Haruhiβs Grade 10 MYP Personal Project, showcases her exceptional artistic talent and innovative spirit.Β
In Grade 10, Haruhi authored and designed a childrenβs storybook titled Rugi the Seagullβs Busan Adventure. This charming book follows Rugi, a seagull, as she explores Busanβs iconic tourist destinations, engaging young readers with delightful illustrations and educational content. The project was a key component of the IB curriculumβs extensive Personal Project, demonstrating Haruhiβs creativity and dedication.Β
Roman Kardashov, General Manager of Park Hyatt Busan, was so impressed with Haruhiβs work that he invited her to collaborate on an exciting new initiative. The result is Hayaniβs Busan Travel Guide, a childrenβs sticker book featuring the Park Hyatt Busan mascot, Hayani, a cute white seal pup. This guide aims to entertain and educate the hotelβs youngest guests about the sights and attractions of Busan, further enhancing their experience at the hotel.Β

Haruhiβs book will be included in the hotelβs guest care package, providing young travelers with a fun and interactive way to learn about the city.Β
Simon McCloskey, Head of School at the International School of Busan, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration.
βWe are immensely proud of Haruhiβs achievement. Our school values creativity and community engagement, and this project exemplifies both. Haruhiβs innovative work and the opportunity to partner with Park Hyatt Busan highlight the spirit of our educational approach.β
ISB has long valued its community partnerships and is excited about this latest collaboration with Park Hyatt Busan. The hotel looks forward to exploring more opportunities to work together in the future, continuing to foster local talent and enhance the guest experience.Β
