Haeundae Beach Opening Event Planned for Tonight, Less Parasols to be on the Sand this Year

Haeundae Beach will host an opening event the night before the beach is officially opened for summer operations.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. at Haeundae Beach Event Square and will feature music and magic performances as well as a movie and fireworks.

Additionally, Haeundae and Songjeong beaches in Busan will open with a reduced number of parasols on the beach this year to allow a better view of the ocean from the outer side of the beach.

The two beaches are officially set to open this Saturday, the 1st of June.

According to the Haeundae-gu office, the number of parasol areas in Haeundae beach will be reduced to 14 from last year’s 17 and for Songjeong beach, down to 7 from last year’s 9.

Also, reflecting the increased number of night swimmers from last year, the official night opening days will be extended from 15 days to 17 days for this season.

The night opening at the beach will start from the 26th of July and remain open until the 11th of August in the 200m section on the beach until 9:00 pm.
