Haeundae Grand Hotel Tells Labor Union it is Closing December 31

The Haeundae Grand Hotel announced to its labor union that it will operate until the end of the year and close its doors.

According to the hotel’s labor union, the company sent its official notice of closure under the name of the hotel president.

The notice said that the hotel was unable to overcome its continuous deficit due to various external economic conditions and other events, including the death of a child in their swimming pool and reported sexual harassment against staff.

The labor union is opposing the hotel’s closure notice.

An official from the union said that the company has made profits and had one year of deficit last year and is questioning the motives behind this notice. The official said that it may be to break up the union and shake up the employees.
