Busan Destinations: 6th Haeundae Lighting Festival Begins Today

The Haeundae Lighting Festival returns for its sixth year bringing holiday spirit to Haeundae.

The festival will begin 15 days early this year for overseas guests who will be visiting Busan for the Korea-ASEAN special summit.

An 18-meter-tall Christmas tree will also be set up at the Event Square of Haeundae Beach.

In addition, colorful lights will be installed along a 1.4-kilometer section that will include the Culture Square of Gunam Road, the access road to Haeundae Beach, Haeundae Market and Aehyang Road.

Visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Haeundae in the winter until January 27th next year.

There will also be a variety of programs for the citizens, including a national carol competition, an entrance ceremony for 100 Santa Claus’, and a wish tree for citizens to hang their year-end wishes as well as busking performances and LED lighting displays.

A “milky way light sculpture” can be seen on top of the white sandy beach of Haeundae Beach as well.
