The 2026 edition of Ghost Park Masquerade has wrapped up at Hapcheon Movie Theme Park after setting new records for both attendance and ticket revenue.
Held over 17 days from July 31 to August 16, the nighttime horror festival attracted 32,838 visitors, up 57.5% from 20,855 last year.
Ticket revenue reached a record 641.91 million won, an increase of 54.8% compared with the previous year.
Crowds grew particularly large during the latter part of the festival, with more than 3,000 visitors arriving on some days.
Organizers responded by adding the new “Bimyeong Bosal” attraction, expanding roaming ghost performances and introducing a “Dokkaebi Theater” program to help spread visitors across the venue.
Additional safety personnel were deployed throughout the festival, while visitor and vehicle movements were closely managed in cooperation with local police and other agencies.
Despite the large crowds and limited parking around the venue, organizers reported that the 17-day festival concluded without any major safety incidents.
The record turnout marks the strongest performance to date for the annual summer horror festival, which has become one of Hapcheon’s signature seasonal events.
