KFC Looks for Big Expansion in Korea

KFC Korea is looking to add nearly 300 stores in the nation by 2023, with plans to hire 1,000 permanent employees.

The company’s new CEO Eom Ik-soo announced last week in a press conference in Seoul that the brand will undergo a restructuring and relocating its branches to locations with better conditions.

KFC Korea is looking to compete with major Korean chicken restaurants.

Now domestically owned by KG Group after purchasing it from CVC Capital Partners this year, KFC Korea incurred 12.2 billion won in losses last year.

There are currently 214 KFC locations in the country.
