Korean Government to Ease Regulations on Roof Cafés and Street Restaurants

The Korean government is looking to ease restrictions of roof cafes and street restaurants, as it embraces an outdoor dining culture missing from the Korean dining scene.

According to Korea Bizwire, The Ministry of Economy and Finance said that it discussed ways to improve related regulations aimed at the second half of next year.

Until now, outdoor operations have only been possible in designated places such as special tourist zones and hotels.

In the future, however, outdoor restaurants will be permitted everywhere in principle if there are no problems with complaints such as noise or hygiene.
