In its 21st run this year since its launch in 1980, KORMARINE (International Marine, Shipbuilding, Offshore, Oil & Gas Exhibition) is Korea’s most prominent expo dedicated to showcasing the rich history and excellence of Korea’s shipbuilding and marine industries.

Encompassing shipbuilding (and shipbuilding materials), offshore plants, and marine fuel/energy, KORMARINE will be participated in by approximately 800 companies from over 40 countries. The expo will highlight Korea’s status as a leading maritime power and propose suggestions for the direction of the global shipbuilding industry.

National pavilions will be operated by 14 countries (Korea, Japan, China, UK, Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, Switzerland, Austria, and Greece), with Switzerland returning after a 10-year hiatus. The CCCME (China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products), China’s largest industrial organization, will be creating a second China pavilion together with 20 companies. This year’s expo will be even more special with the first-time participation of companies based in Luxembourg, Brazil, Israel, Ukraine, and India.

The KORMARINE Conference, which will be held alongside the expo, is the largest offshore and shipbuilding conference in Korea and an event that has been steadily gaining recognition overseas. Having begun as the only international conference in Korea hosted by a private institution, the KORMARINE Conference is now jointly hosted by the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association, Korean Register, Korea Marine Equipment Association, Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute, Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Korean Society of Marine Engineering. Sponsored by Busan Metropolitan City, the KTO, and BTO starting this year, the expo is steadily growing to become one of the country’s major local conferences. For 2019, the theme of the event is “Digital and Green Ocean.” A world-class international expo hosted in Busan, a major city of the global marine industry, KORMARINE will be held in Exhibition Centers 1 and 2 and the Outdoor Plaza.
