Lim’s Huge Second Half Lifts IPark Past Pohang 3-1

BUSAN, South Korea — A huge second half surge gave the Busan IPark their first win of the 2014 campaign with a 3-1 win over visiting Pohang at the Asiad World Cup Stadium Saturday afternoon.

After a back-and-forth battle around midfield in the first half, Pohang opened the scoring on the hour when Lee Myung-joo blasted home a shot in the left corner from just outside the penalty area.

Lim Sang-hyub scored the Iparks first goal of the year when he leveled the score in the 65th minute with a beautiful effort from the penalty area past Pohang keeper Shin Hwa-yong.

The IPark took the lead in the 72nd minute when Lim Sang-hyub notched his second goal off a corner kick when he banged in the rebound off a deflection off the crossbar to give IPark a 2-1 lead.

Yang Dong-hyun added an insurance header in the 82nd off a Fagner corner to give the IPark their first points of the season.

The IPark hit the road again next weekend for a battle with FC Seoul next Sunday afternoon.
