Police arrested a man in his 20s who killed a woman in her 30s after attempting to make a purchasing arrangement through an online website.
Busan Jin Police Station in Busan announced that it has arrested a 25-year-old man on charges of murder.
The man is suspected of killing a 30-year old woman with a blunt instrument at her apartment in Busanjin-gu, Busan, at 6:40 p.m. on the 21st of October.
The two reportedly met on the day through a used goods website without a prior face-to-face meeting.
According to police, the suspect said he committed the murder because the woman did not give him a discount on a sofa.
He has been living alone and been known to have financial difficulties.
In general, when doing direct trade where second-hand goods transactions are made, people often meet at public places such as subway exits and cafes.
However, because of the size of the sofa, she invited him into her house after he asked to check the condition of the furniture.
The police are investigating the exact motive for the crime, considering the man likely couldn’t have afforded the expensive sofa.
