Changwonβs signature autumn flower festival, the 26th Masan Gagopa Chrysanthemum Festival, will return from October 31 to November 8, bringing nine days of floral displays, nighttime entertainment and food to the Masan waterfront.
Held under the theme βChrysanthemums Embrace the Autumn Sea,β this yearβs festival will expand across three main venues: 3Β·15 Marine Nuri Park, Happo Waterfront Park and Masan Marine New City.
The main festival area at 3Β·15 Marine Nuri Park will feature eight themed displays created with approximately 100,000 chrysanthemums. Major events will include the opening ceremony, a multimedia fireworks show and two new programs β a nighttime floating fire display over the water and a chrysanthemum-themed costume and makeup competition.
Happo Waterfront Park will host additional fireworks and performances as part of the Masan Port Night Sea Festival, combining live entertainment with views of the harbor after dark.
Masan Marine New City will serve as a new festival zone aimed particularly at younger visitors. Plans include a food area, outdoor autumn cinema, wedding photo zone and AI experience booths.
Food will also play a larger role this year, with organizers planning to bring chefs featured on tvN’s Street Restaurant Fighter to the festival. A new 12,900-won Chrysanthemum Pass will offer discounts at the festival and participating businesses around Changwon, while a coupon book and designated food-delivery zone will encourage visitors to explore nearby restaurants, traditional markets and shops.
Parking capacity will increase from 4,500 to 5,500 spaces, while the number of temporary restroom facilities will rise from five to nine. Vendors will also be required to clearly display prices, serving quantities, origins and payment methods.
