Motorcycle Racers Crackdown Brings Over 100 Arrests in Gyeongnam


Over 100 motorcyclists in local racing clubs have been arrested in Gyeongnam after a large crackdown by local authorities.

The Gyeongnam Police Agency recently began a crackdown of motorcyclists racing on the mountain roads with speeds in excess of 160 km/hr.

The speed limit on roads in the area are 60 km/hr.

Most of the riders arrested were men in their 20s and 30s, many of them office workers from Gyeongnam, Busan and Daegu.

Police also seized three motorcycles and gave 40 day license suspensions to those who committed more serious offenses.
