One person died and 12 others injured after a man drove into a crowd at a temple in Yangsan city of the South Gyeongsang Province.
According to the South Gyeongsang Fire Department, the incident took place at around 12:50 p.m. Sunday on a road near the entrance to Tongdosa Temple, where the victims were celebrating Buddha’s Birthday.
The 75-year-old driver surnamed Kim, veered off to the side of the road where people were resting and walking.
The deceased was a woman in her 40s. Eight people have been seriously hurt, while four others sustained minor injuries with victims ranging in ages from their 20s to 70s.
The police confirmed that the driver Kim got his driver ‘s license at the age of 62.
