Photos and Highlights From Day 1 of BMW Ladies Championship

Day 1 of the BMW Ladies Championship took place Thursday at the LPGA International Busan in Gijang.

World #8 Minjee Lee took a one-stroke lead shooting a six-under-par 66 to take a one-stroke lead over world #1 Ko Jin-young and Lee Seung-yeon.

“Actually, when I started it was a little rainy. It didn’t rain much on the front nine, so I think it was a good start,” Lee said after the round.

Ko, who needs only a sixth-place finish to end up the Player of the Year, also played well despite the days’ conditions.

“Wednesday, there was no rain and only a lot of wind, so the green felt a lot hard. Then it rained a lot and the green seems soft so when attacking a second shot or a pin, I could make a more aggressive birdie chance,” she said.

The second round of the tournament gets underway today at 11 a.m.
