Police have launched an investigation into two foreigners who parachuted off a high-rise building in Haeundae.

According to Busan Haeundae Police Station and residents, two foreign men were spotted jumping off the roof of a 42nd floor Officetel near Haeundae Metro Station at 1:30 p.m. on the 10th.

In video footage filmed by the self-proclaimed base jumping artists from Russia, the two people can be seen opening their parachutes as they glide over other buildings before landing on the side of the old Haeundae station railroad.

They have reportedly gone up to the rooftop of a hotel as a jumping base without getting prior permission from hotel managers.

BASE jumping, also sometimes written as B.A.S.E. jumping, is parachuting from a fixed structure.

According to the police investigation, the jumpers had hoped to jump off the 101-story LCT building as their ultimate goal.

Security has been increased at the site according to local media.
