Eat Like a Local: Kim Siljang Charcoal BBQ

With many Korean BBQ places to choose from in the city, Kim Siljang Charcoal BBQ is a great, affordable place near Gwangan Beach.

Located close to Gwangan Street Market, it offers a great special lunch menu from 11:30 am to 3 pm. Side dishes change daily and are self-serve.

All lunch specials come with a bowl of rice. We ordered one Doenjang-jjigae set and two Duruchigi sets, which are served ready-to-eat on a hot plate. The restaurant looks nice and clean and is a really nice size with about 10 tables, including a few which give you the option to sit on the floor if you are looking for a more Korean-stye dining experience.

If you are a meat-lover, you can just order pork or Korean beef and cook it yourself like you would normally do at a Korean BBQ-style. The warm, but non-intrusive staff is ready to fill your hunger.

They open 11:30 am to 11:00 pm daily except the first and third Sunday’s.
