Taxis in Seoul are about to get more expensive from next Saturday.
The city government announced that the basic fare will rise 800 won to 3,800 won, while late night fees from midnight to 4 a.m. will rise 1,000 won from 3,600 won to 4,600 won.
The changes are set to effect from 4 a.m. on February 16.
The Seoul Private Taxi Association has also pledged to improve their service against growing complaints from the public.
Taxis in Seoul have notoriously been complained about for not picking up passengers who ride short fares and reckless driving.
