September Brings Major Classical Performances to Tongyeong

Tongyeong Concert Hall will host two major classical performances this month, featuring the Korea Festival Ensemble and the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Korea Festival Ensemble will perform September 5 as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations. Founded in 1986, the chamber group will present music ranging from Dowland, Handel, Bach, Mozart and Schumann to contemporary Korean composers including Isang Yun, Kim Jin-soo and Lee Hye-sung.

The concert is free for elementary school-aged children and older with advance registration through the Tongyeong International Music Foundation.

On September 13, the Luxembourg Philharmonic returns with conductor Gustavo Gimeno and Spanish violinist María Dueñas.

Dueñas will perform Brahms’ Violin Concerto, followed by Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 under Gimeno.

Both concerts will take place at the Tongyeong Concert Hall. Tickets and additional information are available through the Tongyeong International Music Foundation.
