TMAP Mobility has introduced a new walking navigation service designed to make it easier for pedestrians to navigate on foot using the same intuitive interface found in its vehicle navigation system.
The new Walking Directions feature allows users to enter a destination, select the walking option, and receive optimized turn-by-turn guidance.
Unlike traditional map navigation, which often requires users to manually rotate or zoom the map, the screen automatically adjusts to match the user’s direction of travel.
The service also provides advance notifications before turns, automatically recalculates routes if users stray from the suggested path, and continuously updates their location in real time.
TMAP has also integrated the feature with its “Where Should I Go?” recommendation service, suggesting destinations within a one-kilometer walking distance based on the user’s current location.
In addition, the walking navigation links with the app’s Travel Log feature, allowing users to check in at destinations and keep a record of places they have visited.
