What Magnitude Earthquake Can the Busan Metro Withstand?

As earthquakes have increased in frequency and magnitude over the years in Busan, many are wondering what magnitude the Busan Metro can actually handle.

According to the Busan Transportation Corporation, the ground and underground facilities of Busan Metro can currently withstand a magnitude 6.0 earthquake.

Experts have previously predicted that a 6.5 magnitude earthquake is the strongest possible earthquake that could hit the city due to its geographical structure.
