Which Busan Hotels Did the ASEAN-Korea Leaders Stay In?

As the Korea-ASEAN Commemorative Summit came to a close last week, many people are curious where the leaders of the countries stayed while in Busan.

Korean President Moon Jae-in stayed at the Presidential Suite at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Busan during the ASEAN-Korea summit.

It has an interior area of 304 square meters and has a living room, bedroom, meeting room, and two bathrooms. It is famous being used by President Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and former President Park Chung Hee.

The Park Hyatt in Marine City housed King Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. The hotel created a separate Brunei lounge on the first-floor banquet hall to meet its Halal needs.

Leaders from four countries including Indonesian President Joko Wido, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Aung San Suu Kyi of Myanmar and Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia all stayed at the Lotte Hotel in Seomyeon.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad, and Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha all stayed at the Paradise Hotel Busan.

The VIP hotel rooms cost between 8,000,000 won to 10,000,000 a night and provided prayer rooms, and special chefs to accommodate dietary needs.
