South Korea fell to Algeria 4-2 in their Group H meeting at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Brazil on Sunday, as its hopes of reaching the knockout stage were dealt a devastating blow.
Islam Slimani, Rafik Halliche and Abdelmoumene Djabou scored a goal apiece in the first half and Yacine Brahimi added another in the second half, as Algeria methodically picked apart the helpless South Korean defense at Estadio Beira-Rio in Porto Alegre, southeastern Brazil.
After his team was defeated by Algeria 4-2 in its Group H match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup on Sunday in Brazil, South Korean head coach Hong Myung-bo said he takes full responsibility.
South Korea gave up three first-half goals in the loss in Porto Alegre, southeastern Brazil, and the nine-time World Cup participant remains stuck in last place among four nations in the group.
