Actor Yim Siwan has been named the sole host of the closing ceremony for the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which runs from October 6 to 15.
Yim will lead the festival finale, including the presentation of the Busan Awards, introduced last year to recognize winners in BIFFβs Competition section.
The actor began his television career with Moon Embracing the Sun in 2012 before making his film debut in The Attorney. He later gained wider recognition through Misaeng, The Merciless, Run On, Boyhood and Unlocked.
More recently, Yim reached an international audience through seasons two and three of Squid Game, adding to a career spanning film, television and streaming productions.
His honors include awards from the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Baeksang Arts Awards, Buil Film Awards and Blue Dragon Series Awards.
BIFF 2026 will take place over 10 days at the Busan Cinema Center and venues across the city.
