Shinsegae Centum City has converted its former duty-free shop, which closed earlier this year, into a new department store zone.
The renovated 6,000-square-meter (1,900-pyeong) space on the basement floor of Centum City Mall officially opened on the 21st.
One of the highlights is the regionβs first Hello Kitty Apple Cafe, designed entirely around the popular character with themed beverages, desserts, and merchandise.
Another new addition, X Square, brings together subculture merchandise and Naver webtoon IPs, including Volcano Returns, available offline for the first time.
Other webtoon-based goods such as Maru is a Gangjwi and Garbage Time are also on sale.
Global and lifestyle brands are joining the lineup as well, with Miniso Friends set to open soon, alongside Deus Ex Machina and eyewear brand Arlo. Longstanding names like Ugg, Lush, Umbro, and Dr. Martens have also been refreshed in the redesign.
To mark the reopening, special promotions are being offered, such as limited-edition stickers at the Hello Kitty Apple Cafe and collectible figures for purchases over 200,000 won at X Square.
A collaboration with Born2Win introduces exclusive clothing items, while the pop-up area currently hosts a Fruit of the Loom store, running until October 2.
