The 2026 World Smart City Expo will take place at BEXCO from September 9 to 11, bringing together 277 organizations to showcase technologies shaping the future of cities.
Marking its 10th anniversary, this yearβs event will be held under the theme βBeyond Smart City, Into AI City,β with a focus on artificial intelligence and Koreaβs emerging K-AI City initiatives.
Exhibits will cover AI, transportation and mobility, housing, energy and the environment, public safety, disaster prevention and healthcare. Special areas include a K-AI City pavilion, a Busan Smart Ocean pavilion focused on future ports and maritime technology, and a housing zone featuring zero-energy buildings and modular homes.
Major participants include Korean Air, Naver Cloud and KT, along with cities, government agencies and technology companies from Korea and overseas.
The expo will also feature 41 conferences and related programs covering AI-powered ports, digital twins, carbon neutrality, hydrogen cities and smart buildings. An AI City Talk Concert will bring science-focused YouTubers together to discuss how artificial intelligence could change urban life.
K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN will be held alongside the expo, featuring technology related to AI, cloud computing, robotics and quantum technology.
