Seoul is expanding its guided nighttime walking tours, adding a new Namsan route and extending operating hours and seasons across the city.
The Seoul Guided Walking Tour program now offers 10 nighttime routes, up from nine, with tours available from mid-March through mid-November instead of the previous May-to-October season. Evening tours will generally begin at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with selected Friday tours starting as late as 9 p.m.
The new Namsan Fortress Night Course, introduced in September, covers 2.06 kilometers in about an hour. The route begins near Namsanβs Haneul Forest Trail and passes several viewpoints and gardens before reaching N Seoul Tower, the Locks of Love deck and Palgakjeong Pavilion. Tours depart daily at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
On Fridays, special 9 p.m. tours will be offered at Gwanghwamun Square, Cheonggyecheon and Naksan Fortress.
Other nighttime routes include Deoksugung Palace, Jeongdong, Changgyeonggung Palace, Insadong and Namsangol Hanok Village.
The guided walks are designed to connect visitors with nearby neighborhoods after each tour, including Namdaemun Market, Daehangno, Ikseon-dong and Bukchang-dong.
