Late Nights Along the Han River Get an Upgrade

Visitors to Seoul’s Han River parks can now stay under shade tents until 10 p.m., following strong demand for nighttime recreation during a month-long summer camping program.

Starting in September, the extended hours apply to designated tent areas across all 11 Han River parks, three hours later than the previous 7 p.m. closing time.

The number of permitted tent areas has also increased from 16 to 20.

Delivery zones have expanded from six locations at Yeouido, Ttukseom and Mangwon to 17 across all 11 parks, making it easier for visitors to order food during evening outings.

The changes follow the success of the city’s β€œHan River Bamping” program, which attracted 11,476 participants at Yeouido and Ttukseom during August. Friday and Saturday sessions frequently sold out within minutes.

Seoul is also adding lighting, CCTV cameras and additional nighttime patrols as evening use of the parks increases.
