Seoullo 7017 is getting a seasonal update this fall, with chrysanthemums, live music and weekly activities joining ongoing improvements to the elevated pedestrian walkway.
From September 15 to 18, 674 chrysanthemums will be planted along the route, adding to the 306 plant species from 50 families already found on Seoullo 7017. The walkway also features trees and flowers representing Seoul and each of the cityβs 25 districts.
Live busking performances will take place at the Rose Stage at noon on September 11 and October 23 as part of the cityβs βLive Everywhereβ program. Guitarist Kim Yoo-jung will open the fall series on September 11 with a performance drawing on classical and flamenco music.
Free knitting workshops will also be held every Friday at the Hydrangea Cafe and Rose Rest Area. Visitors can participate without advance registration and learn from an instructor.
The city is also continuing maintenance work along the walkway. Concrete tree planters are being repaired, while safety railings at two locations are scheduled for improvements by September 30. Pest-control work will continue twice a month following increased treatment during the hot and humid summer.
Seoullo 7017, Seoulβs first designated pedestrian-only walkway, is particularly busy during lunchtime, commuting hours and among tourists throughout the day and evening.
