99 Songs, an official selection for the Open Cinema section, is a music film about a musician and his journey to realize his purpose and passion. The film garnered significant attention when it was announced that world-class composer A.R. Rahman would be penning the story and composing the music.

A.R. Rahman is an Indian music director and composer who gained international recognition. He is known in Korea for scoring the Slumdog Millionaire 2009, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Song and Best Original Score.
