Seoul’s Regional Tourism Antenna Shop is expanding its programs and opening hours, offering visitors more opportunities to experience regional food, culture and travel while also serving as a starting point for nighttime sightseeing in the capital.
Located near Seoul City Hall at 119 Sejong-daero, the facility includes a nationwide travel information center, regional goods shop and a 1,088-square-meter rooftop overlooking central Seoul.
Eight regional governments currently participate, including Gangwon, Gyeonggi, Gyeongbuk, Andong, Gwangju-Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, Jeju and Chungnam.
The rooftop will now open until 9 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday and serve as a meeting point for night walking tours, running groups and other activities.
Beginning September 1, two Jeong-dong and Deoksugung walking-tour routes will also depart from the facility.
The travel center and goods shop will remain open until 9 p.m. on Saturdays from August through October.
Monthly cultural workshops are also being expanded to Korean participants, with upcoming programs including a Jeonnam green tea candle-making class in September, Gyeonggi ceramic gardening in October and a Jeju citrus-themed workshop in November.
From October 21 to 25, seven participating regions will also hold a joint pop-up showcasing local travel destinations and regional foods.
