Yangsan Moves Ahead With Hwangsan Garden Project

Yangsan is moving forward with plans to create a large riverside garden near the Nakdong River after completing the major administrative procedures for the project.

The Hwangsan Local Garden will cover 173,162 square meters in Jeungsan-ri, Mulgeum-eup, with a total budget of 6 billion won.

Plans call for six themed areas: the Golden Sand Garden, River Breeze Garden, Yangsan Theme Garden, Five Senses Healing Garden, Citizens’ Garden and Nakdong River 12 Views Garden. Gardening experience areas and rest facilities will also be included.

The project dates back to 2020, when the site was first designated for development as a local garden.

Around 1.8 billion won will be invested this year in initial construction, including drainage and other infrastructure. Work will also begin on the Golden Sand and River Breeze gardens.

Protective fencing will be installed for narrow-mouthed frogs, a legally protected species found in the area.

Yangsan plans to complete construction by December 2027 and officially register Hwangsan as a local garden in 2028.
