Geoje City will hold a 14-day autumn flower exhibition from November 2 to 15 following the cancellation of the 20th Geoje Island Flower Festival due to record-breaking heavy rainfall.
The exhibition will take place at the Geoje Agricultural Technology Center and the outdoor grounds of Geoje Botanical Garden, offering visitors an opportunity to enjoy seasonal flowers in a quieter setting.
A total of 65 types of chrysanthemum displays and floral sculptures will be featured, including designs inspired by Cheong Wa Dae, rings and penguins.
Inside the botanical garden’s large glass greenhouse, members of the Geoje Chrysanthemum Bonsai Research Association will present a special exhibition of carefully cultivated chrysanthemum bonsai.
A separate photography exhibition will document flood recovery efforts, highlighting the contributions of volunteers and support received from communities across the country.
Unlike the original festival, the event will not feature large-scale stage performances or entertainment programs. Instead, organizers will focus on providing a peaceful environment where visitors can enjoy the flowers and surrounding gardens.
The city also hopes the exhibition will encourage visitors to support nearby restaurants, cafes and local businesses affected by the flooding.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no evening admission permitted for safety reasons.
