South Korean President Park Geun-hye and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump have held talks over the phone to reassure the alliance between the two nations.
Seoul’s foreign policy authorities said that Park and Trump held a ten-minute discussion from around 10 a.m. yesterday.
Trump ensured that his administration will maintain the solid military readiness to defend South Korea against North Korean threats.
Park, on her part, congratulated Trump on his election victory.
While underlining the South Korea-U.S. alliance that lasted for over six decades, Park specifically noted that the North Korean nuclear capability is the largest threat faced by the allies.
