Taejongdae Theme Park Partially Reopens as Zip Line Remains Closed

The Taejongdae Ocean Flying Theme Park in Busan’s Yeongdo-gu has partially reopened, with its observation cafe back in operation while the zip line and media art attraction remain closed.

The cafe reopened on September 20 under the new name Age Bakery, following the closure of the facility in June due to financial difficulties involving the previous operator. Yeongdo-gu has selected a new operator for the cafe and zip line.

The zip line is undergoing inspections and repairs, with an early October reopening planned if it passes safety testing. The district has allocated about 18 million won for maintenance and plans to conduct repeated test rides with experts before reopening it to the public.

The media art section remains closed after experiencing six equipment failures since opening. Repairs could cost between 30 million and 100 million won, prompting concerns from the Yeongdo District Council about continued public spending on the attraction.
