With less than a month until the Busan mayoral election, candidates are competing over policy pledges.
Jeon Jae-soo of the Democratic Party emphasized livelihoods and artificial intelligence. He also proposed reviewing major cultural projects to redirect funds to fuel support, small business aid, and public fee freezes. He outlined a plan to invest 10 trillion won over five years to build an AI ecosystem.
Current mayor Park Heong-joon of the People Power Party proposed a youth asset plan to help young people build 100 million won in savings. He also pledged expanded family support, education programs, and citizen benefits tied to cultural events.
Both candidates presented economic development goals, with details to be debated further.
