Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) will offer a series of rooftop sunset tours this autumn, combining panoramic city views with live music performances and meditation sessions.
Organized by the Seoul Design Foundation, the DDP Rooftop Sunset Tour will run every Friday and Saturday from October 16 through November 21, with 12 sessions scheduled over six weeks.
The 90-minute experience allows participants to walk along the curved rooftop of the landmark building, designed by architect Zaha Hadid, while watching the evening sunlight reflect across its distinctive silver exterior.
This year’s program introduces two different experiences, with live music on Fridays and meditation on Saturdays.
The Friday program, “DDP Rooftop: Sound,” will feature performances by singer-songwriters and musicians against the backdrop of Seoul’s autumn skyline.
Singer-songwriter and guitarist Moon Sang-hee will perform on October 16 and November 13, while singer-songwriter Qurim will appear on October 23 and November 20. Flutist Lee Seul-gi will perform on October 30 and November 6.
The Friday performances will also be broadcast live on a large screen at DDP’s Oullim Square, allowing other visitors to enjoy the music without joining the rooftop tour.
On Saturdays, “DDP Rooftop: Pause” will offer guided meditation sessions featuring singing bowls, instruments known for producing sustained, resonant tones.
The sessions will be led by Bora on October 17, 24 and 31, followed by Jung Yoo-sun on November 7, 14 and 21.
Tour times will vary according to sunset, running from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in October and from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in November.
For the first time, the rooftop tours will provide simultaneous Korean and English guidance, making the program accessible to international visitors.
Participation costs 50,000 won per person, with advance reservations available through the official DDP website.
On-site registration will also be available 20 minutes before each session if spaces remain.
The sunset program is part of DDP’s expanding tour offerings, which began with architectural tours when the landmark opened in 2014 and later expanded to include rooftop experiences in 2024.
